First attempt: Splatter

This is my very first attempt at a technique I have been in love with for sooo long!! I am actually really impressed with how it went, I thought it would be a very messy disaster! However, I love the colors, I love the brightness, and it only took me maybe 10 minutes to do! I got my inspiration from both Kayla Shevonne as well as Sandra from My World

Nails of the week!!

Ive been super busy the last few weeks and I have been neglecting my nails and blog, so I am going to try something a bit different!! I am going to set a goal for myself, one set of nails a week!! So this weeks nails are just a simple Rainbow tipped skittles! I actually really love this style because it is so simple yet so fun! I was going to add a few polka dots, or maybe an additional color but I decided against it, what do you think?!

L.A. Colors Art Deco - Black
Joe - Base & Top Coat

For The Yankees Design I used:

L.A. Colors - Energy Source

Newspaper Nail Art

These are my newspaper inspired nails! They are a pretty cool look but I found the process to be a bit lengthy   and at times very messy. Im going to Included a step my step guide on how to acheive this look!

Things you will need:

  • Light colored base coat
  • Clear coat
  • Clippings from a newspaper (I found text that was printed from my printer at home, on your basic white paper works better than newspaper. Clippings big enough to overlap your finger nail)
  • Small bowl of alcohol (vodka works best in my opinion, only enough to dip your nail completely in)
Step by Step:

  1. Start by applying your base coat to all 10 nails and let it dry completely
  2. Once your polish is dry, dip your nail into the alcohol for 30-45 seconds
  3. As soon as you remove your finger from the alcohol, wrap the paper clipping around your nail, text on the nail of course! Apply pressure to the clipping for about 30-45 seconds, then slowly peel it off *You may have to do this more than once, it does not always take on your first try!*
  4. After repeating steps 2 and 3 on all nails, apply a clear coat to seal it all in so that the print does not rub off!
Hope you guys enjoy this long but fun nail tutorial! If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!

Under The Sea Inspired Nails

This was my entry for a monthly competition on www.bluekaffee.com
The theme was under the sea so I decided to go with various cartoon like art along with a simple blue gradient!

The one on the right wasn't actually part of this set but fell into my under the sea category!
